About Cranberry Creek Gateway Site
Building on the community values of local residents, organizations such as CAN DO (Greater Hazleton's economic development agency) and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce, have joined together in a proactive effort to improve Greater Hazleton. This vision includes the development of the Cranberry Creek Gateway Site, a mixed-use project consisting of commercial, retail, residential and recreation options.
In 1998, CAN DO and the Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce formed a joint board of directors to work toward improving the gateway to Greater Hazleton. CAN DO purchased the land in 2006 and has been working with the Chamber and local municipalities in an effort to make Greater Hazleton more attractive to residents and visitors alike.
Greater Hazleton has seeen tremendous growth over recent years in its industrial centers which border the Cranberry Creek Gateway Site, making it an ideal location for new retail and commercial opportunities. In fact, companies like Amazon.com, AutoZone, Archer Daniels Midland and Tootsie Roll have located nearby in just the past few years. They join companies like OfficeMax, Cargill Meat Solutions, Hershey Foods, Network Solutions and Simmons which are also located just minutes away.
Plus, the Cranberry Creek site is easily accessible from heavily-traveled Interstate 81, providing access to thousands of travelers each and every day.
